Apparently this is quite the thing in Shakopee Schools, but the other day Ethan brought home an activity - not an assignment, but something to do just for fun. He asked to build a Leprechaun trap. I was not really going to be all that into it, but he really believes in these things (despite our trying to help him understand that they are fake) and he was getting so excited over it. So, I did as any good dad would do - spend 3.5 hours of a nice Saturday, indoors working on a the trap. Here are a few pics - remember, this was for any sort of credit, it was all just for fun. The funniest thing was is he was sure that the trap would catch one, but really didn't want to catch any because he's scared spit-less of them.
The idea is for the leprechaun to follow the shiny trail, climb the latter, see the glitter and money in the hat and fall in - get trapped! Overall, a blast of a fun time~!
That is so cute! Kids LOVE that stuff. My son just walked in and saw this pic and thought it was cool. Then, got a funny look on his face and said "but leprechaun's aren't real." True, but still fun.
ReplyDeletePrize for being the best dad! You ought to keep that around for awhile.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice dad you are. Ethan looks thrilled. I love Eli's new shirt too. :) I didn't know you both went to Florida- how fun! A much-deserved break and it was fun to read about all the things you did. Glad you got to go!
