We ordered 5 Buff Orphington's and 5 black sex-linked. The kids have been totally enthralled with the new pets. Eli spends a great deal downstairs peering into their makeshift brooder (basically a big plastic tub with food and water). Esther also loves them and gets so excited to see them. She will point to one and then talk her head off (too bad we have no idea what she is saying).
Its been fun to watch them grow so far. Its only been three weeks, but they have changed so much. They have fun personalities and now are quite far into the process of getting real feathers. We took them outside for the first time this weekend. Here are some pictures of today's events. DISCLAIMER: we don't have church till 1:30 on Sundays, so normally we just hang in our pj's until its time to get ready. Hence, the crazy hair.
Ande at first had not idea how to pick up a chick. Apparently, she still doesn't :)
Esther wondering if she's going to jump or not!
Ethan - Not sure what is going on there. He seems a little interested, but maybe too old for chicks?
Well, here they all are...fun times!!!

way to go Eli. You make a good farmer. Love the chicks. Love G Hunt
